Be Prepared! The Crisis Hotline Program Is NOW Recruiting!!!

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Applicants must possess a GED or Diploma. Upon employment applicants are expected to submit proof of education.
  • The Open Door submits and pays for clearances before employment.
  • Child Abuse History and Criminal Abuse History Clearances are required.
  • EXCELLENT communication skills both orally and in writing are required. Proficiency in english is necessary.
  • At least 2 years of sobriety from alcohol and other drugs is required. Applicants CAN be in recovery from substance abuse but not currently in treatment at
  • The Open Door or at another substance abuse treatment center. This does not include attendance at support group meetings
  • which the agency encourages for recovery.
  • In order to qualify for the position of Crisis Intervention Specialist applicants must first successfully complete the 65 hour Crisis and Suicide Hotline Training Program. 
  • The quality of the work performed and submitted by the applicant will be supervised and evaluated by the Crisis Hotline Coordinator in order to determine eligibility for the
  • Crisis Intervention Specialist position. Based upon this supervision, observation and evaluation completed by the Crisis Hotline Coordinator, an applicant may or may not be
  • recommended for hire by The Open Door upon completion of the training period.  The training for the Crisis Intervention Specialist position is voluntary on the part of the
  • applicants and is unpaid during the training period.  Upon successful completion and recommendation of the Crisis Hotline Coordinator, applicants will be eligible for
  • part-time employment paid at the minimum wage base and for on-call shifts which are paid at a per shift rate.
